A quote to start the weekend with

Cleaning up my office this afternoon and I spotted this quote hanging behind some post-its on my bulletin board. I love collecting quotes, I have a book that I write them in, and I read over them when I'm feeling uninspired. It's an amazing feeling when you come across a passage that strikes you so deeply. Since I'm sharing favorite things lately, I thought I'd share this too :)

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkeness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all ment to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsiciously, give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our prescence automatically liberates others."
--Marianne Williamson

And on that note, have a great weekend and go out there and do something amazing!

Disney World in black and white

Any one that knows me, knows Disney World is a favorite vacation spot for my husband and I. In early February, we returned from our 6th trip to "the world". Yep, we're those people! The ones that spend months pouring over Disney World menus, browsing resort information and photos, we enjoy planning the trip just as much as we enjoy the actual trip. We have the parks memorized, no need of maps for us. And I'm proud to say, I actually have lovely, organized binder where each trip is planned. There's no nice way to say it - we're Disney Geeks! LOL!

Each trip I take tons of pictures (such a big shock, huh?) and this trip, I wanted to concentrate on capturing some of the little details that make Disney World such an amazing place. I could happily spend several days at Disney World just taking pictures, the rides, shows and the yummy treats are just the icing on the cake for me.

The following are some of my favorite images from the trip. Enjoy! (And if you're thinking about a trip to Disney World, GO! It's fun, and life's short. Go and indulge in a week away from reality, there's not too many opportunities in life to do that now days.)

2007 Seniors - You've still got time!

Thinking that you've missed out on senior pictures? Not at all! It's not too late to book a session for your senior portraits and as long as your session takes place before mid-April, you'll still have your wallets back in plenty of time to share with friends in school.

Just use the contact page on my site http://www.lamccoyphotography.com to let me know you're a 2007 senior and we'll find a spot for you in the schedule. Only a few of these 2007 senior spots are available so you'll have to hurry to get one!

Maternity Portraits

One of my very favorite types of sessions are maternity portrait sessions. I love the thrill of capturing the strength and beauty of a woman while she's pregnant. It's such an amazing time and while it seems like those 9 months are going to last forever (trust me, I remember those days of wishing I could hand my aching belly off to my husband to carry around for a few hours ;) ), the memory of what your body looked like while pregnant fades so fast after your newborn arrives.

For me, it's important to capture your pregnancy from your point of view, in addition to more traditional captures. My favorite image to capture is one from over your shoulder. It's how you see yourself every day and it's a wonderful, personal keepsake. Following are a few of my all time favorite maternity portraits. If you would like to view more of my maternity work, please visit my maternity gallery at http://www.lamccoyphotography.com

Thank you to all the wonderful families that have allowed me to have the honor of capturing this special time in your lives!

New website in the works

Some of you have heard me mention that I'm working on a new website and it's on the way. I'm so in love with this site and can't wait to launch it. My goal is to have it up by the end of the month. It will have a lot more room in the galleries which I'm very excited about. It's almost as exciting as moving into a new home :)

Booking up for spring

I just wanted to mention that I only have a couple of April spots still available and I'm starting to book in to May. If you have a timeframe in mind for senior pictures or spring portraits for your children, it's best to go ahead and contact me so we can get it on the books. Just send me an e-mail through the contact page of my site and we'll get everything set up!
